The eighth season of Gateway Arch Park Foundation’s Sunrise Yoga – which for the third year included complementary program Sunrise Bootcamp – set a new attendance record in 2023, with more than 1,070 participants.

Fitness enthusiasts from across the region and tourists from around the world took part in the series in Kiener Plaza facing the Gateway Arch and Old Courthouse.

More than 30 classes were held Tuesdays and every other Saturday, respectively, from May through October.

Led for the second year by instructor Nicole Coglianese of Citra Fitness & Movement, the Sunrise series challenged participants to push themselves through yoga and cardio fitness while also offering a chance to experience the magnificent morning views of the Gateway Arch.

Best of all, the series remains completely free, made possible by members and supporters of Gateway Arch Park Foundation, as well as this year’s series sponsors BJC Healthcare and GadellNet Consulting Services.

“We were thrilled to see the turnout again this season,” said Camille Brooks, director of programming and events at Gateway Arch Park Foundation. “Sunrise fitness classes are part of our mission to bring fun, innovative programs to the Arch grounds and surrounding areas, while encouraging St. Louisans to embrace Kiener Plaza as their own and explore their City in a new way.”

“The energy of these classes is incredible, and the views are second to none,” said Coglianese. “To be able to tell people, ‘Turn and face toward the Arch’ – that never gets old. It’s been great to continue partnering with the Foundation to offer this to the amazing residents and visitors of our City.”

“The Sunrise Yoga series is one of the most joyful and restorative parts of my week. I’m so grateful that you host it, I’m so grateful it’s free, and I’m so grateful that you continue to activate Downtown through such
