Our third annual Picnic in Your Park spring fundraiser, hosted by our Friends Advisory Board and held on Sunday, June 11, was a huge success!
Undeterred by the rain and gloomy clouds, many attendees chose our “curbside pick-up” option and were greeted with delightful tunes by St. Louis favorite, the Red & Black Brass Band.
Others ventured into the park to enjoy their meals on benches, lawn chairs or even our waterproof blankets to get the full picnic experience. In the words of one attendee:
“Everything you guys do is awesome! We love the quality baskets and blankets, the food is delicious, the band sounds amazing, and you’ve even got the sustainability touch with the wooden utensils. We’re amazed!”
Thanks to our attendees and event sponsors, Picnic in Your Park brought in more than $62,000 to support our mission of park conservation, preservation, education and community programs.
We are also grateful to our local St. Louis news channels and other media for helping us get the word out about this event. Check out some of the coverage on KTVI Fox 2 and on KTRS The Big 550.
We hope you’ll plan to join us next year at the fourth annual event and help us spread the word about why this fundraiser is important to our mission and to Downtown St. Louis.
