“You always have to re-educate yourself. There are certain cultures that different people are interested in, and there are vast cultures in the history that you feel drawn to while you work.  Each year you try to condense new information, like with the opening of the new museum, in a way that fits what’s going on in current times. You try to find a way to fit historical individuals into current culture.” 

Jeffrey Nixon has been a park ranger with the National Park Service at the Gateway Arch for 12 years. He’s originally from St. Louis.
