For the 4th year in a row, the Gateway Arch Park Foundation and Yoga Buzz are teaming up to present Free Sunrise Yoga presented by Centene Charitable Foundation in Kiener Plaza. The all ages and skill-level classes will be Tuesday mornings 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. starting April 16 through October 15! We caught up with Yoga Buzz instructor Jamie Austin to learn all about the 2019 series.

What should we expect in 2019?
Jamie Austin: Expect to have fun, to learn, and to grow. Every week will bring different challenges, but I always want to offer a class that is approachable, empowering, and inclusive. I think most yoga teachers are known for something. One of the things I’m known for is my love of core workouts and integrating them into the practice.

Who should go to Free Sunrise Yoga in Kiener Plaza?
JA:
Everyone! Truly everyone. I’ve seen beginners come to class with their friends, and I’ve seen fellow yoga teachers. Sunrise Yoga at Kiener Plaza is really about coming to your mat and honoring who you are in that moment. Listening to the body and taking what you need.

How do you like the new Gateway Arch National Park and Kiener Plaza?
JA:
I love the new grounds. It’s always nice to walk by and see people sitting outside enjoying themselves, having lunch, or hearing kids playing in the water. I already have a favorite spot on the Arch grounds. During the nicer weather, I find it rather calming to sit outside and read a book or meditate in the grass.
