An Update from Gateway Arch National Park

Artboard 1
Old Court House

Dear Friends,

During this uncertain time in our lives, we hope this letter finds you and your loved ones safe and well.  The Gateway Arch Park Foundation and our partners in the National Park Service have been closely monitoring the information and recommendations about the best ways to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.  The Gateway Arch National Park announced this morning the closure of the Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse until further notice, beginning today.

The health and safety of visitors, employees, volunteers, and partners is the park’s number one priority. NPS is working with federal, state, and local authorities to closely monitor this rapidly changing situation. When appropriate, Gateway Arch National Park will notify the public when it resumes full operations via traditional media, as well as online at nps.gov/jeff and gatewayarch.com and on social media (@GatewayArchNPS).

Those who have pre-purchased Tram Ride to the Top and Documentary Movie tickets will receive full refunds. For questions regarding ticketing, please email info@gatewayarch.com.

The Gateway Arch Park Foundation has also suspended our weekly Sunrise Yoga events until further notice. We are planning ahead for events in the future and look forward to the day we can all gather together again.

We are reminded how fortunate we are to have 91-acres of green space – an urban national park -in the center of our downtown. Time outside is good for our spirits in periods of uncertainty – the Park surrounding the Arch is still open and spacious enough to give each other the social distance our leaders are recommending and the fresh air our bodies need to recharge.

When visiting a park, NPS urges the public to follow CDC guidance to prevent the spread of infectious diseases by maintaining a safe distance between yourself and other groups; washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth; covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze; and most importantly, staying home if you feel sick.

Please follow along on our social media channels, @gatewayarchpark, for on-going updates.  We are thankful also for our ability to be social online. Please tag us in your favorite photos of the Arch. We want to see cute pictures of your dogs and your kids. Tag us in the posts and we’ll share them – together we can share a smile and brighten the day.

As always, thank you for supporting Gateway Arch National Park.

Take care and be well,

Ryan McClure
