Celebrate National Park Week at Gateway Arch National Park, from April 22-30!

Our partners at the National Park Service are hosting a week full of fun activities for the community to enjoy.

 

National Park Week: What is your Park Story?

Ever formed a strong bond with a place or sense of place? This year, National Park Service staff and YOU are invited to share "your park story" about your special connections with places in national parks or communities where we often have programs and partners working. Follow along on social media using #YourParkStory and consider sharing your own using #MyParkStory. Each day of National Park Week has a theme. The themes and daily events below connect to how you can share or create your park story.

Daily Events

Ranger Talks

Park rangers will discuss the daily National Park Week themes at 2:15 p.m. each day (April 22-30), inside the Gateway Arch Visitor Center.

Junior Ranger Program

Pick up special Junior Ranger activities at the Gateway Arch Visitor Center front desk or Tucker Theater and complete them in the Museum to earn a Junior Ranger badge. The activities are like a scavenger hunt -- participants are guided to find an exhibit and then connect that exhibit with another national park site by answering questions. They're then guided to design their own national park.

April 22: Fee-Free Day

As Earth Day and the start of National Park Week, April 22 has been designated a fee-free day by the National Park Service. At Gateway Arch National Park, the $3 "entrance fee" that is included in each adult Tram Ride to the Top ticket and adult Documentary Movie ticket is waived. 

As always, visiting the Museum is free! Plan your visit.

April 22-23: Earth Day 365 Festival

The St. Louis Earth Day Festival is a community tradition to learn about sustainable products and services offered by local businesses and organizations, meet local area nonprofits that share Earth Day values, as well as showcasing local entertainment and local Green Dining Alliance restaurants.

Meet-and-Greet with Gateway Arch Park Foundation and Gateway Arch National Park at the festival to learn about what we’re doing to sustain a St. Louis treasure, the Gateway Arch! Stop by our booth in Forest Park between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 or Sunday, April 23 to play some games and a chance to win some Arch swag.

April 29

April 29: Riverfront Clean-up
9-11 a.m., 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Meet us at the St. Louis Riverfront to clean up our Mighty Mississippi River!

To celebrate National Park Week, we and the park have partnered with several community organizations to host a community trash pick-up event, weather permitting.

April 29: Junior Ranger Day
10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

As part of the "fun" theme for National Park Week, park rangers at Gateway Arch National Park will demonstrate Native American and pioneer toys.

April 30

April 30: B.A.R.K. Superintendent Induction Ceremony and B.A.R.K. Ranger Dog Walk

Dogs and humans alike are invited to attend the B.A.R.K. Superintendent Induction Ceremony at noon welcoming our new photo contest winner.

The pup will then lead a dog walk at 12:30 p.m. through the Arch grounds, joined by a trusty park ranger.
